On January 29th, at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) of the Presidential Academy of RANEPA, a special project of the International Cooperation Department “Buddy’s School” was completed, which more than 50 students of the Institute took part in.

Over the course of two weeks, school`s participants mastered several blocks, including topics such as overcoming the language barrier; assistance to foreign students; cultural sensitivity training; Buddy’s philosophy and much more. After each lesson, students completed homework, which was checked by employees of the International Cooperation Department of the IPACS Presidential Academy RANEPA, paying attention to the following parameters: creativity; scope of the task and level of foreign language proficiency.

Students who successfully completed the “Buddy School” and received certificates as a professional supervisor of a foreign student shared their impressions of taking the course.

Tatyana Zubareva, a 2nd year student in the program “State and Municipal Service”, noted:

“Buddy’s School” was my first experience of participating in such projects. It was interesting, dynamic, promising! I really liked the format of the assignments and the opportunity for creative initiative during their implementation. If in the future there is an opportunity to participate, I recommend trying it and I will take part myself.”

Anastasia Kamynina, a 1st year student in the program “Effective Public Administration”, noted:

“The “Buddy`s School” project is incredibly interesting. Having the opportunity to interact with someone from another country and learn about the culture is an invaluable experience. During the selection, there were many different tasks to understand whether such an activity was suitable for the participant. All tasks were varied and interesting. I look forward to meeting the new students at the academy!”

On February 1st, foreign students entered the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of the Presidential Academy RANEPA, and Buddy, certified by the International Cooperation Department, will become their curators and help them adapt to new conditions.
