On January 15th, a special project of the International Cooperation Department of IPACS “Buddy’s School” was launched at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) of the Presidential Academy RANEPA. More than 50 students of the Institute took part in the selection for the program.

“Buddy School” is a cultural and educational course that is aimed at improving interaction between students of the Presidential Academy and foreign students coming as part of academic mobility programs. The course includes a series of video lessons on topics related to the cultures, history and traditions of different countries, as well as intercultural interaction.

Training in this course will last until January 29. During this period, student participants will be required to master extensive material and complete homework. Based on the results of the course, ten buddy curators will be selected, as well as an asset who will help in organizing and conducting cultural events for foreign students.

Sofya Shalenkova, 1st year student in the program “Management of International Projects and Programs (with in-depth study of foreign languages),” noted:

“Buddy’s school provides a lot of opportunities. First of all, it is getting to know a foreign person, his culture, language, country and history. I would really like to make new friends from a foreign country. “Buddy’s School” also provides an opportunity to practice languages, which is very useful for the work of an international specialist. It will be an incredible experience for me. Expectations from the course are high! I would like to start studying sooner and show my country to foreign students.”

We are confident that for all participants of the “Buddy`s School” the course will be an excellent platform for acquiring international professional competencies, and for those who undergo training and selection as curators, this is an opportunity to expand their international horizons and meet students from different countries.
