On March 14th, a lecture by Professor Ali Farazmand was held at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS).
Ali Farazmand is a professor at Florida Atlantic University, editor-in-chief of the International Scientific Journal «Public Organization Review», editor-in-chief of the World Encyclopedia of Government and Public Policy (Springer).
Speaker told the students in detail about the most important problems in the areas of public administration. He touched upon major historical events, such as World War II, explaining that during this period the world was divided into two camps, which set the general direction for the future of the global political agenda. Ali Farazmand noted:
“There are a huge number of different people, different traditions, different nations and religions in the world. It is very important to regulate interaction, avoiding global conflicts, and this can only be achieved through negotiations and consensus.”
Students and teachers shared their impressions of the lecture.
Maxim Prokoshin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of State and Municipal Administration of IPACS, noted:
“This lecture was extremely important for students in order to better understand the world order and need to preserve the multipolarity of the modern world in the context of ensuring international security.”
Alina Voronchikhina, 1st year student in the program “International Projects and Programs Management”, said:
“Professor Ali Farazmand impressed me with his clear vision of the real international situation. Thanks to his lecture, I discovered new aspects in modern processes, such as, for example, globalization and the formation of a multipolar world. The professor spoke in detail about the actions of political actors at each level of government: global, national, regional and local; also illustrating them with various examples. The professor paid special attention to the upcoming growth and development of Asian states, pointing out their historical experience in applying effective management technologies as an advantage. I can say with confidence that the master class gave me something to think about, and the lecture by Professor Ali Farazmand was extremely rich and informative.”
Kristina Kirsanova, 1st year student in the program “Effective public administration”, said:
“I attended a lecture by Professor Ali Farazmand. I really enjoy this event. This lecture will be very useful in the future when mastering the profession of a manager, as the professor spoke about the problems of public administration and their solutions at the global, regional and national levels. Most of all, I liked the fact that Ali Farazmand could be asked questions to consolidate the information, to which he answered without any problems.”
